Key Verse – Luke 2:19 “But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”

Christmas day is almost here! If you are around children at all, you can almost feel the anticipation and excitement grow with each passing hour. We’ve covered a lot of ground since we began this advent journey, we considered Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, wise men and I hope and pray you’ve spent some time considering where you find yourself this Christmas season. Scripture tells us that Mary treasured up all that was happening and thought about them in her heart. When was the last time you took time to ponder in your heart all that Jesus has done for you? 

We adults tend to be forgeters which if we are not careful can lend towards doubting God and His provision. My encouragement for you today is to spend some time treasuring and storing in your heart all that God has done for you not only this season, but over your entire life.

Think and journal about:

• Think back, when did you first meet Jesus? Who introduced you to Him? How did you feel when you surrendered your life to Him?
• What are some specific ways you’ve experienced God’s faithfulness, provision and love?
• Have there been times when you have felt that God didn’t show up in the way you wanted? Talk to God about those disappointments and ask Him to show how He was in fact there for you?
