Anticipated Arrival -13

Key Verse – Psalm 143:4-5 “My spirit is weak within me; my heart is overcome with dismay. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all you have done; I reflect on the work of your hands.”

This week we’ve covered basically nine months, from when the angel visits to Mary to the birth of our Savior, Jesus. The journey was a mix of anticipation, unexpected twists and turns but in the end Jesus was born. Consider that while Mary and Joseph experienced surprises at every turn, not one single second of this birth story was a surprise to God. Jesus came to earth in exactly the way and time it had been planned.

Think and journal about:

  • Is there a common theme or thought that has resonated with you all week? What is it?
  • Is there a passage of verse that seems to keep coming up over and over again? What is God saying to you through it?
  • How are you feeling about the upcoming Christmas season? What are you looking forward to? What are you dreading?
  • Ask God to show you what He wants to teach you in your waiting this week.
