A New Adventure

For several months now I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog.  I’ve not mentioned it to anyone until this past month.  And as you can see if you are reading this I have decided to move forward and actually start.   So here we go…..

Let me start with a little back ground of how this even came about.  For the last two years I have written weekly devotionals for teachers at the preschool where I work, as well as a few other things.  The whole idea of writing those devotions was not mine.  I’ve actually never considered myself a writer or even someone who has a good enough grasp on the English language to attempt something like this.  But it was something that God laid on my heart and I just could not shake.  So, I began.  Something I have discovered along the way is – if God wants you to do something, he will provide for your needs along the way.  Writing was His idea and the ideas/thoughts behind what I write come from Him as well.  There are never my own.  In fact, when I’m struggling to come up with an idea and I start to push, the finished product is just not that good.  The reason being that somewhere along the line I started to think that I could do it on my own.  And that is just not true.  I freely admit that I love to be in control, but walking with Christ doesn’t work that way.  We are designed and called to rely on our heavenly Father, not ourselves.  It’s a lesson that I am still learning.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”  This verse is my goal for this new adventure.  I pray I can bring glory to God by sharing what He gives me to share.  My prayer is that you learn, are encouraged and maybe even convicted by what you read.  I have no formal plans for how frequently I will post or what I will write about.  What I do know is that if God lays it on my heart, I will share it.  I will be honest and open about my life and what God is teaching my through my struggles and successes.

Feel free to comment, share, follow, ask questions, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read this first post.  I hope to have another post ready by tomorrow.
